The city of San Fernando City Council passed an impeachment resolution for President Bush with a unanimous vote on August 20, 2007. San Fernando Valley became the 87th city or township in the nation to pass a resolution calling for the impeachment of President Bush.  The city of San Fernando became the second city in Los Angeles County, West Hollywood being the first, to adopt an impeachment resolution.

At the Monday night San Fernando Valley City Council meeting eleven members of the LANIC-SFV group presented to the City Council evidence of impeachable offenses committed by President Bush. The Los Angeles National Impeachment Center – SFV Chapter is actively working with the Studio City Council to pass an impeachment resolution.

After the Council had heard the impeachable offenses committed by President Bush, Councilman Jose Hernandez, whom was the first elected officials to speak quipped, "Why stop at Bush?  We should impeach Congress too."  Mayor Julie Ruelas piped up, "What about Cheney?" Councilman Steve Veres said the Iraqi war hits home in San Fernando because the first casualty of the war was a San Fernando High School graduate. Veres said the public comment was, "Right On."

The city of San Fernando City Council plans on delivering the city’s impeachment resolution to Congressman Brad Sherman. Congressman Sherman (Dem 27th District) is a member of the House Judiciary Committee, the committee in Congress that would investigate the impeachment charges. The City Council is hopeful that Congressman Sherman will take the presentation of San Fernando City’s impeachment resolution as an indicator of the drumbeat in his district for impeachment proceedings to start in Congress.

The impeachment resolution was introduced to San Fernando Valley officials by Eugene Hernandez, a member of the Los Angeles National Impeachment Center – SFV Chapter (LANIC-SFV Chapter).   Mr. Hernandez said the San Fernando Valley impeachment resolution signals a victory for his group.    On August 17th 45 concerned Angelenos went to speak to the Los Angeles City Council to persuade LA City Council to adopt an impeachment resolution.

About the Los Angeles National Impeachment Center (LANIC) – a 100% volunteer and non-partisan organized group solely committed to the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney.    The LANIC website is www.BCIMPEACH.

For anyone reading this who hasn't heard of it, House Resolution 333 is the resolution seeking impeachment of Vice President Cheney. There's an online poll/letter writing campaign on this issue which is seeking public opinion both for and against -- right now registered opinion is 99% in favor. It's at:
