Islam Yasin Qasem is a doctoral candidate
in the Department of Politics and Social Sciences at the University of Pompeu
Fabra (UPF) in
Spain. His research and teaching
interests include Political Islam, Middle East Politics, International Politics
of Oil, American Foreign Policies in the
and the Arab-Israeli Conflict. He frequently writes articles about events and
issues related to Middle East Politics and Political Islam. Some of his
articles are published in the English and Spanish press. He also teaches a class on Middle East
Politics at UPF.
Islam has a multidisciplinary
academic background. He received degrees in Engineering and Business before
switching to Politics. He holds a Master Degree in International Affairs from
New York City,
and an Advanced Degree in Political and Social Sciences from UPF.
