Daily Roundup from Willard Payne (Night Watch Information Service)

TEHERAN - In a speech noted for its unreality, a hallmark of either pretending or self-deception - actually both... U.S. Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice performed as programmed by Teheran and business interests that have armed the Islamic world. Debka summarized her speech before a Jewish organization in Nashville and Rice proceeded to recite every myth concerning the situation in West Asia. Washington would protect Israel from Iran and Hamas, the Palestinian community can become a strong reliable state and Mahmoud Abbas, the enormously corrupt leader of the fractured Palestinian Authority is a reliable negotiating partner. The fools in the audience applauded the speech and they have obviously forgotten Washington was not even able to protect the oil pipelines in Iraq, but after all she spoke in Nashville, Tennessee so what do you expect. Washington has abandoned the Kurds in northern Iraq and the Bush administration is preparing to abandon Israel. It is all part of London-Washington’s exit strategy. Washingon has no coordinated regional strategy, only coordinated excuses and finger pointing.

Dr. Rice performed as programmed by the oil industry, in her case Chevron, which is desperate to maintain profitable relations with Islamic governments as oil companies and OPEC celebrate the increases in the price of crude oil, therefore Washington imagines there is no serious cooperation between the Arab states and Teheran, while at the same time the energy industry is owned by the same industrialists who armed the region including the engineering services headquarted in San Francisco that first constructed bases for Saudi Arabia then did the same, through its London branch office for Iran. The lost alliance of London-Washington have dealt themselves into a defeat, but what diplomatic song and dance do you perform in the meantime? You convince yourself you still have influence and the war will not become worse and if of course it does then you blame someone else instead of the corruption that is the foundation of your personal fortune.
Damascus- Teheran’s influence was written all over the speech, an artificial, arrogant, illusory presentation. The audience probably thought it was glamorous and if so they deserve to be misled, but even more misled are Washington and European governments, which still privately hope Israel is the main target of Teheran’s foreign policy, which is what Iran has deceived them into thinking, nothing could be further from the truth. But the truth has long been far from the West and its decision making as they shift from one foreign policy lie to the next and in the meantime Teheran stated yesterday it will no longer entertain the myth from the West as Iran stated yesterday Javier Solana, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) foreign policy, is “no longer a desired presence in Iran.”

So while fools enage in false hope Teheran-Damascus-Hezbollah-Lebanon’s miltary and Palestinian militants are preparing to enlarge the ongoing war. Debka is reporting, that in wake of Israel’s successful air raid on the Syria-Iran missile-nuclear facility two months ago, Teheran is adding more air defense units around Damascus itself. A lot of Syria’s military command and control is concentrated in Damascus and I suspect some neighborhoods are used to house Hezbollah’s leadership and Iranian personnel as was the case with Beirut, which is why Israel bombed certain neighborhoods in Beirut so heavily last year in its war with Hezbollah.
Jerusalem - Israel seems to be seriously and secretly preparing for the worst, confronting a nuclear armed Iran. Reuters is reporting the government of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is preparing its response to what Jerusalem is calling “the day after Iran has atomic bombs.” It should be called the day after Iran first uses them and not on Israel, but on India in support of Pakistan and the Muslims in Kashmir. As this site has stated, ever since Teheran staged the elaborate presentation of wiping Israel off the map, there is no market for salt in the Dead Sea and Iran’s foreign policy is extremely economic. That is why the two main objectives for Teheran is to defeat its main international-economic rival the West and control the vast resources of the Indian sub-continent. Islamabad is fully aware of this and with that in mind Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf presented Teheran with his offensive “Action Plan” when he visited Teheran last February. I believe that is the reason he has instituted a state of emergency in Pakistan to prepare the country for full scale war with India and in support of Pakistan Iran has placed its military units on full alert. The world without Zionism speeches was deliberate deception of the international community, especially of the West and Iran knew it would work because they know governments in the West like to hear things like that, what Iran is going to do to Israel to let the West believe war and conflict will just stay inside the region and continue to weaken it and never seriously attack Europe or the U. S. bases in the region and again nothing could be further from the truth and again the truth is alien to the state of mind of governments in the West. But in reality war against Israel is a war of popularity, and will be used by Teheran in order to inspire more Islamic radicalism, the same political forces that assassinated Egypt President Anwar al-Sadat in October 1981. Egypt’s current President Hosni Mubarak is next on Teheran’s list, he is the last Islamic head of state still cooperating with the West militarily and is actually more of a target than Israel.

A government like Teheran would never be content with just limited war here and there accompanied by the occasional terrorist attack and in the meantime stage some rallies and make speeches. Teheran has prepared a massive arsenal of advanced weaponry and they intend to use it in a massive, spectacular war effort against its two most hated targets, the West - India, Mubarak is actually ranked no. 3, Israel no higher than four, which is why I will be surprised if Teheran targets only its fourth most important target with anything nuclear. Iran will commit its brigade size Rapid Deployment Force against Israel, coupled with spectacular publicity including in Egypt, which will encourage more Islamic extremism there to support political and armed groups intent on removing Mubarak. But before he is overthrown, cursing the West for unleashing the Jihad by enabling the Ayatollah Khomeini to overthrow the Shah of Iran 1979, Mubarak will declare war on Iran with the military units loyal to him. He is, however, surrounded by governments that support the Jihad, Tripoli-Khartoum-Riyadh and the West will be to busy trying to save itself to help him.
Beit Hanoun - Israel will be there when the smoke clears and very much intact. In the meantime the latest news from the ongoing war, Aljazeera reports two members of the Palestinian militant group Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade were killed in the northern Gaza city of Beit Hanoun during an Israeli air attack on one of their missile teams. Three other members were wounded as Israel continues to respond to the continued Qassam rocket fire from Gaza into southern Israel. Al-Aqsa has stated this week so far they have fired ten and Teheran is training them in the use of more powerful, longer range and more accurate versions of the Qassam. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade is the military wing of Fatah, which is headed by Mahmoud Abbas who Dr. Rice described as a reliable negotiating partner for Israel.

It is the state of mind of established society in the West, and its political-diplomatic representatives, that is deteriorating even more than the situation in the region.
